The 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang is upon us and this is a great 50 year old xxxx edition to own and celebrate the occasion!
This is a decent xxxx Mustang Coupe. We bought it with the desire to keep it as a daily driver, however as we all know things change.
The odometer shows xxxx0, but as with any car this age the actual mileage is not known. It runs great and it captures peoples attention nearly every where we drive it.
We have some documentation for when it was restored in xxxx. At that time the cars front end was repaired, it was completely repainted, most of the chrome was replaced along with interior updates etc. The engine was also updated to a 70 250 6 cylinder somewhere in its life.
Since we purchased it we have completed the following repairs:
New front and rear KYB gas shocks.
New valve cover gasket.
New thermostat and gasket with full radiator flush/anti-freeze.
New exhaust manifold gasket and ring to pipe.
New heater blower motor and wiring.
New ignition switch and key.
New driver and passenger door upper and lower weather strip seals.
New trunk weather strip seal.
New seat front seat belts.
New brake master cylinder.
Body condition:
The paint and chrome trim is shiny and clean. A majority of the chrome, i.e. bumpers, grille, emblems were replaced during the xxxx restoration. There are some rust spots beginning to show through at the roof pillar, lower doors and quarter panels. They should be taken care of sometime in the future. The front lower valance panel has some creases from bumping into something in the past. It can easily be repaired or replaced. Other than that, the body is straight with no evidence of any major collision damage. The floor pans appear to be original with no adverse rust or damage. The Car-Lite glass is all good, with no cracks, fading, pits or chips. The car not only looks good from a distance, but up close too! All the lights, turn signals, tail and brake lights work. Water still beads up on the paint.
Drive train chassis condition:
The engine is a bit cold blooded in the mornings for the first 5 minutes or so of running but it smooths out and runs great. The transmission shifts smoothly up and down all the gears, however it is missing its kick down shift linkage. There is a minor oil pan gasket leak, where it leaves a dime to nickel sized drop on the ground after a day or two of being parked. The parking brake needs to be adjusted. It brakes smooth, strong and straight. The alignment is perfect and it drives straight as could be. The upper control arm bushings are beginning to squeak, so they will eventually need to be lubed and/or replaced. The tires are 195/75R14 white-wall radials. They have plenty of tread and several thousands of miles of use available. The Mustang consistently gets us 20 mpg locally and 22 highway.
Interior condition:
The interior looks nice. The carpet, door panels, headliner and the front seats have been updated. The back seat appears to be original, but it has a seem that should be mended. There are no foul smells or odors. All the gauges and electronics work and even the original AM radio works well. The heater core, control box and the motor was updated and it now works perfectly. The front windshield seal needs to be replaced. The new seal is included. All the windows roll up and down, but could use some lubricant and/or adjustment for smoother operation.

The barnyard, rust bucket, restorable cars are in the $xxxx.00 to $xxxx.00 price range. The nicely restored cars are in the $xxxx to $xxxx0 price range. This one falls in the average restored, daily driver range of $xxxx.00 to $xxxx.00. The "buy it now" price is $xxxx.00 is reasonable and affordable.

Summary:
This Mustang is an attractive daily driver car. Its reliable and it gets decent fuel economy. My wife and I have taken it on several daily drives as well as some weekend fun drives and it has never failed us. We recently drove it to and participated in a 50th Anniversary Mustang club event held in Woodburn, Oregon. At the anniversary event, we showed the Mustang and paraded it along with more than 800 Mustangs setting a Guinness World Record for the Largest Parade of Ford Mustang cars. So this is a Mustang you can enjoy driving everyday as well as take to any weekend Mustang or classic car club event for the pure fun of it.
